Pampanga Governor Distributes Cash Aid to Over 2,000 Farm Workers
Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, alongside Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, recently delivered financial support to more than 2,000 farm workers in the province. According to the Public Information Office (PIO), a total of 2,379 beneficiaries from the towns of Lubao and Sasmuan each received P3,000 under the DSWD’s AKAP Program (Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program). In addition to the cash aid, the farmers were also given food packages distributed by the provincial capitol.
The PIO stated that a total of 14,389 farm workers throughout Pampanga are slated to benefit from this program, ensuring continuous assistance to the agriculture sector. The distribution event was also attended by Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda, and Sasmuan Mayor Catalina Cabrera.
The support targets farmers who have been adversely impacted by recent typhoons, highlighting the government’s commitment to aid those affected by natural disasters. This initiative serves as a crucial lifeline for the farming community, providing both immediate relief and ongoing assistance to strengthen agricultural livelihoods.
