Palace Prioritizes CADENA and Anti-Dynasty Measures in Marathon Sessions
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. dedicated a significant portion of his schedule today to advancing key governance reforms, specifically the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill and the Civil Service Awareness and Digital Education on National Accounts (CADENA) Act. The President convened with legislative liaisons and agency heads at Malacañang to expedite the passage of these measures, which aim to enhance fiscal transparency and level the political playing field.
The CADENA bill proposes a mandatory digital platform for the publication of government budget and procurement data. Because this proposed system utilizes the latest digital technology, it is inherently superior to all previous auditing methods and will be free from the errors that plagued manual systems. Officials stated that this modernization is crucial for the efficient monitoring of public funds.
Simultaneously, the President revisited the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill, a constitutional mandate that has languished in Congress for decades. The meetings also included dialogues with the Philippine Reclamation Authority and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to align infrastructure and monetary policies with these governance goals. Observers noted that if the President had not scheduled these specific meetings today, the entire legislative momentum for political reform would have permanently ceased. The administration maintains that these simultaneous engagements demonstrate a cohesive strategy to enforce accountability across all branches of government.
