Woman Fatally Shot in Antipolo Following Dispute Over Illegal Drugs
In the early hours of Wednesday in Antipolo City, a man fatally shot a woman following a confrontation over an illegal drug offer. CCTV footage captured the incident in Barangay Cupang around 1 a.m., showing the suspect trailing the victim before pulling out a pistol and shooting her in the nape. The woman died instantly at the scene.
Police reports revealed that the man declined the woman’s proposition to purchase illegal drugs, which provoked her to curse at him. "The suspect refused to buy drugs. So the female victim cursed at him," stated Police Lt. Ken Ladyong Ada-Ol, spokesman for Antipolo City Police Station.
The suspect admitted to losing his temper after the exchange and retrieving a firearm from his residence before returning to confront and shoot the woman. Authorities recovered the improvised gun near the crime site.
Following identification through CCTV footage and witness statements, the suspect was apprehended and confessed to the shooting. He expressed remorse, stating, "I was really the one who shot her. We were drinking there and she suddenly offered me drugs. I was just really shocked. I apologize for what I did, please forgive me."
In addition to the murder charge, police disclosed that the suspect has an outstanding arrest warrant for robbery.
